* More Details *
Bugculation is a board game based on Japanese Checkers (Hasami Shogi). You don't know that game? Don't worry. its rules are so simple.
We can place one piece on a single square on the board. Each piece can move vertical and horizontal direction. When you interpose opponent's piece(s) between your two pieces, you can take off the opponent's piece(s). When opponent loses the second last piece, you win.
sounds easy? It actually is :)
However, there's three difference in Bugculation from Japanese Checkers.
- the board grid is composed of hexagons not squares- you need to calculate in order to move your pieces- No turns
Because the board is composed of hexagons, your pieces can move in 6 directions.
You need to calculate when you want to move your piece. Find the calculation on the hexagon which is your piece's destination, and type the answer on the number pad on your side. If the answer is correct, your piece will move as you thought. If not, your piece will not move, rather, possibly your other piece will move as you don't want. You cannot play as you want unless you accurately calculate.
"No turns" means that you don't need to wait your opponent finish his/her piece move. You can keep moving your pieces as you calculate. Well, but it takes a little time that a piece finishes its move, although you can move other pieces during that time. You reserve the hexagon when you get a correct answer, but the piece move has not been valid at the time. The bug on the piece starts moving toward the hexagon afterwards, then when the bug gets there, the move will be valid.
This is a board game using your own calculation ability.Enjoy this dynamic Japanese Checkers!
